The Red Cedar Advocacy Centre is grounded in the core belief that access to justice should not be barriered.
Legal Support Work in Community
We provide free and pay-what-you-can legal services for low-income community members, seniors, youth, Indigenous peoples, people of colour, and people from other equity-seeking groups.
Climate Justice & Ecological Stewardship
Standing up for people and the planet is a core pillar of the work we do at Red Cedar. Part of our work involves environmental advocacy alongside legal work for climate justice and ecological stewardship, and the intersection of both with Indigenous rights to self-determination, human rights, and the right of all in Canada to participate in peaceful demonstration.
Community Programs
While still in development, one of the goals of the Red Cedar Advocacy Centre is to coordinate a variety of community programs by and for neighbours. One of the programs currently in progress is the Neighbours Helping Neighbours Program, funded in part by the City of Victoria. Programs like these help to support our community through the development of mutual-aid skills and build neighbourhood resiliency and togetherness.
